The Reputation management industry is over a decade old. Centered around the Apex body__The Reputation Institute__the industry has grown and has more than thirty firms practicing the concept and offering consulting services. Academic research is being done in various universities in the US, Canada and across Europe and papers are being presented annually at international conferences.

The Founder of the Reputation Institute (www.reputationinstitute.com ), Professor Dr.Charles Fombrun did some pioneering research at the Stern School of Business which led him to develop the various attributes that impact Reputation. Today the industry has grown and there are various tools measuring and rating companies on a Reputation scale proving that Reputation is no longer an intangible asset but a very measurable and tangible one that can be worked upon and developed.

Reputation Management has transcended boundaries and escaped comparisons with other concepts like image building, advertising, public relations and brand building and is beginning to be accepted as a serious management concept impacting the top-management. It is fast becoming a tool to transform organizations and helping them to get closer to their goals.
